Born and raised in rural West Fresno County, Omar is the son of hard-working immigrants. While in high school, Omar served as Vice President of his Future Farmers of America chapter and received the American Degree for his outstanding service and dedication to farming.

 

While attending California State University, Fresno, Omar was elected by his peers to serve as Fresno State ASI President. As Student Body President, Omar worked to ensure more than 25,000 students were represented and had a voice in every board and committee meeting.

 

After graduating from Fresno State, Omar worked at a local dairy and thereafter continued his passion for public service doing community outreach in local government.
